You should also understand your school's safeguarding response to children who are absent from education; and understand the role of the designated safeguarding lead and deputies.
You should also receive safeguarding and child protection training at induction and regular updates throughout the year. This could be via email, e-bulletins and through staff meetings.
Formal training should take place at least annually to provide you with the relevant skills, an understanding of the local and national context and to understand any changes to KCSIE.
